Everything You Need to Know about Julian Crane

General Information: Julian Crane is the immoral son of powerful businessman, Alistair Crane. He is the husband of Ivy Winthrop Crane, but it is a marriage of convenience that was arranged as a business deal between the Crane and Winthrop families. What Julian doesn’t know is that his golden-boy son, Ethan, is not his son at all. Ethan was actually conceived on Ivy’s wedding night—when she ran to her first-love Sam Bennett for solace! Julian probably has the distinction of being the most reviled man in Harmony, mostly as a result of his less-than-glowing past. TC Russell hates him for what he believes was Julian’s role in the accident that cut short TC’s tennis career. TC’s wife, Eve, despises him for how he treated her during their long-ago affair. Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald believes that Julian is responsible for his father’s mysterious disappearance years ago, and also thinks he’s one of the main forces keeping him and Sheridan apart. And this is just the tip of the iceberg! Of course, none of this bothers Julian; he couldn’t care less what the common folk of Harmony think about him! He’s much too concerned with making money, saving his own skin, and enjoying a good brandy! Will Julian get his comeuppance for his sins? Will he discover that the one true thing in his life, his son, is not really his? Stay tuned…and read Julian’s vital stats below!

Name: Julian Crane

Family Background: Julian is the son of ruthless businessman Alistair Crane and Alistair’s late wife. The Cranes are one of the wealthiest and most powerful families in the world. The Crane roots have been in Harmony for hundreds of years and the family basically controls the town. Julian, who is just as ruthless as his father, never lets anyone forget just how powerful the Cranes are.

Siblings: Julian’s younger sister is Sheridan but Julian thinks she might as well be a member of another family! That woman has absolutely none of the Crane traits he holds so dear…selfishness, deviousness, or arrogance!

Spouse: Ivy Winthrop Crane, in name only. Julian married Ivy as part of a business arrangement set up by the Crane and Winthrop family (a situation Ivy was not aware of until after they tied the knot). Julian and Ivy have lived in a cold, loveless marriage for years.

Romantic History: Julian has a long history of entanglements outside of his marriage. Most recently, he has been “carrying on” with Suzanne, a former Crane maid. Before meeting Ivy, Julian had a tawdry affair with Eve Russell, now a respected doctor in Harmony.

Occupation: Julian was the head of Crane industries until recently when Alistair disinherited him. He is determined to get back his rightful place in the family business.

Friends: Julian doesn’t have friends…only enemies.

Surprising Talent: He makes one heck of a pirate!

Hobbies: Getting in the way of Sheridan’s romance with Luis, reminding the locals how powerful the Cranes are, and playing sex games with Suzanne. Oh, and just generally ruining peoples’ lives.

Favorite Foods: Certainly nothing from the Lobster Shack or anywhere else the common people of Harmony eat.

Personal Motto: The ends ALWAYS justify the means.

Favorite Part of the Day: Whenever he’s got a brandy in his hand!

Favorite Music: He does have a fondness for jazz, as it reminds him of his “special” days with the lovely Eve Russell.

What Makes him See Red: That irritating cop, Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald, and his constant nosing into Crane family business.

If he had one wish: He’d learn Ivy’s secrets…because he knows she has some sordid ones.

Biggest Regret: Regrets are for wimps, but he does wish he’d had more time with the luscious Eve Russell.

Best Qualities: He’s debonair, a sharp dresser, and knows how to smooth-talk a lady. And he sure looks good in a smoking jacket.

Worst Qualities: Arrogant, selfish, ruthless, conniving, immoral, lecherous…need we go on?

Greatest Fear: That he won’t live up to his father’s expectations.

Greatest Achievement: As far as Julian’s concerned, far too many to name…but in the recent past, it would have to be his ingenious scheme to break up Luis and Sheridan by hiring the “Luis” imposter.
